This classroom is designed for “potty-training” two-year olds and young three-year olds. The children in this age group typically can communicate needs and wants with a vocabulary of about  50-100 words. Learning centers will encourage the use of cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, social and emotional skill sets. Children will engage in many activities to promote learning and self-esteem.

*Developmentally, the children fall in-between the two 1/2 and three year old age, or 30-36 months of age

Class Ratio: 1 adult to 9 children.

Folders: Check your child’s folder daily for artwork and notices from management.

For Parents of Twos & Threes

Items to Bring: Change of clothes (at least two full sets) Blanket for rest time. Blankets are sent home on Friday to be washed.

Diapers/ Pull ups: DIAPERS AND PULL-UPS ARE PERMITTED IN THE TWO and THREE-YEAR OLD ROOM. We will work on potty training.

Meals: Breakfast is served at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. and afternoon snack is served at 2:30 p.m. The daily menu is posted in the lobby or here online.

Linens: Your child will be assigned a mat for nap time. Mat sheets are washed weekly, more often if needed. You do not have to provide a sheet unless your child is allergic or sensitive to the laundry detergent we use (industrial strength).

Nap: TWOS and THREES typically nap between 12:15p.m. - 2:15p.m.

Outside Time:  The children play outdoors in the morning as well as the afternoon. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoor play. They will play outside if the temperature is between 35 and 95 degrees in accordance to NC State Law.

Medication: Medication will be administered to your child provided we have a completed medicine slip. Medicine slips must be specific- “as needed” cannot appear on the slip.  Do Not leave medication in your child’s cubby. All medication (including sunblock, chapstick and diaper cream) must be secured in a locked medicine box in accordance to NC State Law.

Toys from home: Please do not allow your child to bring toys from home. This also includes items such as money, make-up, bouncy balls, etc.

Class Pets: You are welcome to take some of our pets home for weekends/ holidays! Ask our two and three-year-old teachers for details.

Calendar: You will be provided with a calendar for the month detailing the upcoming events for the class or you can get it here online.

Drop off time: Children must be dropped off by 10 a.m. Children are not to be dropped off after 10 a.m.

Sick Policy: If your child is sent home due to a fever, vomiting or diarrhea, he/she must remain home for a minimum of 24 hours. This not only protects your child but it also protects the other children in the room. Please see your Parent Handbook for details.
